Namaste…
The light in me honors the light in you…
Why Yoga for the Light?
Light stands for so much … a sense of safety, a way of warding off the darkness in a practical and yet also a symbolic way, the hope of a new dawn, a new chance, a brighter future.
We light candles for remembrance but also for looking forwards with hope and as an offering. Just lighting some tealights and finding a quiet place to sit can create a short breathing space, a chance for reflection, in a busy day. The gentle light of candles comforts after a day under fluorescent lighting and brings back some of the simplicity that may have been lost from the day.
The sun rises every day bringing new energy and new hope after the darkness. I challenge anyone to watch the sun rise – even in a seemingly mundane setting – and not feel some sense of awe as the sun rises above the horizon and light starts to conquer the darkness.
On another level there is a light in us all that sometimes burns brightly, sometimes flickers .. and sometimes even fades .. but is always there.
