This morning I went for a walk in the forest after several weeks of near isolation, long work hours and some bitterly cold days.
It felt like the forest breathed new energy and hope into me. It was wonderful to step into the forest and be almost instantly overwhelmed by the sound of birdsong and sight of various feathered friends hopping around, fluttering and just chilling on branches.
It was a huge relief to see and hear them especially after the recent cold spell. Today’s sightings included woodpeckers, parakeets, treecreepers, ducks, moorhens, robins, blue jays, blackbirds, great tits, blue tits, geese, crows, magpies and chaffinches.
I’d missed the forest and it’s inhabitants so much in recent times.
